I first tried meditating in high school. I've done it on and off since but was never able to really get into it until this past year. I got started with an app that walked me through guided mindfulness meditations and I found that it really improved my mental health. Since then I've been trying some different types of meditation. I did a lot of meditation on the breath, some body awareness ones, dabbled with mantra meditation, and lately I've been enjoying doing some guided metta meditations.

Do you have any experiences with anything meditation related you would like to share?

I do, been practicing since adolecense. I use it to focus and reduce stress. Also I have internalized it to the point where I often automatically or subconsciously slip into a shallow or deeper level of meditation when needed & without thinking about it.

Past six months I have been in the gym a couple times a week to strengthen my legs (had surgery a couple years ago). The past couple months I started working better breath control, focus, ect... into the workout.

Have also been looking for a partner for exploring Tantric sex or incorporating sex and meditative session. No takers yet, but it has made mastrubation more interesting.

actually, same here.

You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.

Probably not what most people would call "real" meditation. But I absolutely try to make time to be alone, preferably in the woods near my house (which I call the forest even though it is only a couple of acres are trees on either side of the stream that runs through them). There I just close my eyes and lose myself in the sounds of the birds chirping and the leaves rustling. Relaxes me and I'm very thankful for the opportunity to chill out almost daily there.

I have been meditating for 5 years. From the beginning it was only meditation, and now I do yoga and drink teas every day (especially puer). I changed my worldview by 100%. I found a job (I am a writer from https://au.edubirdie.com/pay-for-papers), falled in love and changed my habits in food. The humans are emotional creatures, therefore yoga and meditation are what helps me to be restrained, calmly respond to stimuli and look at the situation from different angles. I also work out in the gym.

IMO, but then I'm not most people, this is a great example of meditation.

Sitting breathing quietly, alone or sharing it with people.
Moving through a series of poses... oh that'll be yoga (or other similar),
Chanting, rattling (and not just my old bones), sounding a gong, there are any number of ways to meditate. Even a couple of deep breaths (I use this one regularly when driving )
Just clear the shit out for a bit, have a look at yourself then re-energise ready for the next assault by the real world.

In case you hadn't guessed, yes I meditate, we do a lot of breathing and energy exercises in my yoga class. Before that I started learning about it during counselling after a nervous breakdown.
Yep I would be seriously bat-shit crazy without it, if I had survived.

I practice medication. Is that close enough?

Had been for a Zen course. After a lot of patience, I did manage to get into the silence. when I resumed my normal routine, everything went for a toss. Occasionally, I do manage to relish the Silence.

I've tried, and failed.
I go into myself very often, working my thoughts and self exploring, so that's where my mind tends to go whenever I try meditating. There's no stillness in my mind while being still.

I do believe, and feel like, my yoga practice is full of meditative moments though. It's one of the few activities that makes me easily slip into complete mindfulness.

I'll keep trying, now and then, but I just don't think I do it "right".

Yes I do, every morning. If it's dry I sit in the garden ,feel the connection to nature and the peace from letting my mind slow down.
Its amazingly inspiring and really soothes after a rough night.

I love meditation, and I'm always trying new ways: sitting meditation, visualization practice, mantra practice, walking meditation, and so on.

And recently, I tried to meditate on cannabis, and I want to say that it is the perfect combination!

I use a weed I grow myself (my favorite seeds are https://homegrowncannabisco.com/indica-seeds). But of course, you can also buy ready-made weed.

Has anyone else tried meditating on cannabis? What is your opinion?

I will be meditating using cannabis this Saturday, Its MahaShivratri. The day Shiva (pure awareness) appears to a sincere devotee. Traditionally, Bhang is used (made of poppy seeds) but I think Cannabis might be an interesting alternative. Sattiva.

I meditate almost daily, sometimes just simple breathing with a quiet mind, listening to what the universe brings to my thoughts. Sometimes with guided meditations or hypnotic trances, and sometimes with brainwave altering tones. It helps me rest whe I need rest, and gets me energized when I need that. Sometimes if I am just quiet and listening, I find solutions or comfort. Meditation comes in many forms, but mostly, just breathing and being quiet is the best place to start. Been doing since I was young.

I try to meditate twice a day but only for 5 minutes each. I think it's a good way to start and end the day. Keeps things in perspective.

I do, but not as constantly as I'd like. When I do, I usually meditate around 10-15 minutes (and usually at night, before sleeping).
