To all the authors here.....

What do you think is your best story that has been posted on Lush?

For me, its the one with the least views, so far, "Matchmaking from the Grave".

Easy for me. "Thirteen Steps From Heaven Or Hell", although "Reawakening Rebecca" is a close second in terms of audience appreciation, from those few that have commented on it.

Please browse my digital bookshelf. In this collection, you can find 101 stories, nine micro-stories, and two poems with the following features:

* 26 Editor's Picks, 69 Recommended Reads.
* 15 competition podium places, 9 other times in the top ten.
* 20 collaborations.
* A whole heap of often filthy, tense, hot sex.

My best story might be my two-parter "The default option," and it's probably my favorite as well; the characters are interesting and the plot came off well. However, I think "Solace to Joy" and "Long-time fandom" are almost as successful on the same grounds, and they're tauter in construction.

I like all my stories some more than others depending on where I was at when writing them. I also write to grow as an author. I have seen my work improve over time. With saying this I think my best written story is Love is Love which I wrote for the Pride Month competition.

I also have a couple I just really my emotion could be felt. One of those is Hush Little One which shows the softer side of BDSM.

A poem I wrote that I think is one of my favorites would have to be I wait. This poem imo really shows the relationship between a sub and Master.

I have favorites from others that I absolutely love. There are many many amazing authors here.

I agree with you, this is one of my favorite stories on Lush.

I think my favorite of myine is Wedding Meadow, quite a departure from my typical long wife-sharing series.

Favorite series - tossup between 'Dinner', the collaboration with Kimmi added so much to it; and Ten Year Reunion - which has morphed into quite a long story, but the beginning - the Ten Year Reunion chapters are my favorites.

I think my best is "I Dipped My Whole Fucking Foot In The Lady Pond" in the Lesbian Category or "I Needed A Few More Wrinkles In My Life" in the Mature category smile

just wanted to say, you come up with the best titles. :)

You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.

Thank You! You know, finding cover pics and thinking up titles is almost more fun than writing the story. :) I think many authors don't realize how important a title is to grabbing a reader's attention.

That is a tough choice. I'm partial to them all. I think my best was for the Winter competition, "High School Reunion Hookup". I hope to keep getting better in my writing. I have more ideas for even more stories floating around my head. Thanks to all my friends for the encouragement.

I don't have a favourite as such and I wouldn't say one was better than the other as each have their own story to tell. However, 'First Night at A Swingers Club' is about our first proper introduction into the swinging lifestyle and was really the start of our wonderful awakening into the fun to be had with others with similar interests.

I have different stories I like for different reasons, so I don't have a "best".

But some of the worst I've written have been for competitions. Sometimes a competition can be great for inspiring creativity, but sometimes it's a struggle to meet the theme or word limit (or both!). But that's part of the fun of these competitions - they're a challenge, and success isn't guaranteed.

Here's what I would consider my most garbage (published on Lush) story:

Christmas Carol

Post-avant-retro-demelodicized-electro-yodel-core is my jam.

I'm not a prolific writer, nor a great one, and I've not been here a long time. I've been a writer for 60 years, and so far I've penned a baker's dozen pieces of erotica. I think I'm getting better.

Too true. I'm not always happy with the pics I wind up with, although the young lady with the plumber's crack is perfect for my Plumbers Mate series. The cover for Rainbow House is poor. I would never have designed that lobby. I didn't have the time to design one (I wanted to be an architect as a kid) so I settled. The title, though, was I think at least the fifth. I tried several until, halfway through writing it, I came up with Rainbow House. The moment it popped into my mind I knew it wasn't going to get any better.

To get back to the OP, it may not be my best, but Rainbow House is definitely my favourite.

Looks like we're in for a nasty spell of wether.

If Rainbow House isn't your best, it's got to be near the top. That was one of my favorite stories in that comp.

I would say my poem that was awarded the Recommended read has to be my favourite one that I’ve written

An author's opinion of his/her own best work is pretty irrelevant. The readers ultimately determine what an author's best work is. By that criteria, My First Photoshoot is my best. The one I like best is Band Camp.

I agree with Beffer in a way; I've no idea which one's my best.
My [I]favorite story that I've written is The One That Got Away.
It was effortless.

My fav is "Swinging in the Military". Several autobiographical elements that bring back great memories.

I’ve got a soft spot for Let The Games Begin. It’s an older story and I’ve tweaked it a couple of times over the years, but it makes me smile

Without doubt it has to be Boundaries broken, so much of it was based on actual events it just flowed and was easy to write. It brought back good and bad memories. It was a way of confessing my sins.
