I used to be on explorer. Thursday night when I went to "shut down" it had the almost monthly notice of "shut down and download updates" .Since it is the ONLY option to shut down I clicked like I do every month. Woke up Friday morning to the announcement of "Welcome to microsoft edge". Well, thank you, but I was happy for what I had so I will just go to settings and get rid of you.Nope. OK, I will do a system restore, nope, no option, fine then I will do a freakin reset. Three hours later, welcome to ...You get the picture. It took me and the help desk 3 hours to get logged back in to my vpn. I lost all my favorites, when I go to shut down it wont because I changed a password and didnt tell them. Previously my vpn converted all pages to English,(I live in Mexico) now only a third. I went to google and found out it is happening to several people. While reading a story on it I heard a "click" sound and my screen went black for a nano second.(I now have tape over my camera. I am on an Acer laptop.
....I guess what I am asking, is anyone else? I dont see how this is even legal. sad

Internet Explorer should still be there. It's the original Edge that is being replaced, not IE, or so all my IT sources said. Shitty move by MS if that's indeed what they have done.

What version of Windows are you using? If 10, can you check in Start - Windows Accessories to see if Internet Explorer is still there? It should be.

To be honest, though, you need to get off of Internet Explorer soon. It is no longer supported save for legacy sites that require it and is therefore highly insecure. The new Edge (which is what I exclusively use now) is based on Chromium, the same rendering engine as Google Chrome, so is as fast and secure as Chrome. I'm loving it and we standardized on it at work almost as soon as the final release hit. If not Edge, then Firefox or Chrome (or at least a browser based on a modern engine, unlike IE).

I had to put up with a new one and use the version. I also advise, after all, the edge is not so bad.
