As a man of a certain age and certain appetites, I arrive here with a fairly wide range of experiences, sexual and otherwise. I am interested in hearing about the experiences of others, whether through stories, profiles, or conversation. I am especially drawn to stories - and to people - who feel genuine and authentic. It is hard to be ourselves, especially when we are young. You might think it becomes easier as we age, but I think knowing and then accepting ourselves as we are may be the work of a lifetime.
While sexual experiences are certainly enjoyable - after all, that is why we are here! - I am especially interested in exploring our thoughts and feelings as we move through sexual experiences. What motivates us to do what we do? What is it about sex that is so enthralling, and so compelling? Why are we attracted to certain people, certain roles and situations, and why do certain sexual acts and practices so inflame us, lead us to and sometimes over the edge?
Why are we unfaithful to our partners, who we often still love? What forces - often unknown to us - are acting on us that lead us to the arms and the bed of another?
Is there really a dark other, a companion, a shadow, who lurks in us, often unnoticed, perhaps for years, but who when the time is right, demands to be seen?
I grow flowers, read, write, walk, listen to music, play the ukulele, sing in an all-comers choir, travel around the west (U.S.), , visit friends and family, build stuff (smaller now), watch mostly old movies, make collages, work on my tan (it’s been a looooong winter!), have a spiritual practice, ponder many things, including sex.
